Seismic Networks in the San Francisco Bay Area

The San Francisco Bay Area is continually threatened by earthquakes. As a consequence, it hosts a variety of seismic networks designed to monitor earthquakes and minimize their destructive effects. At present, California has several thousand seismic sensors connected to powerful computer networks in real time or near real time.
